Ex MPA Majeed Khan Achakzai acquitted in traffic sergeant murder

Former MPA Majeed Khan Achakzai acquitted in traffic sergeant murder case, strong reaction on social media

A model court in Pakistan's Balochistan province has acquitted Majeed Khan Achakzai, a former member of the Balochistan Assembly and leader of the Pashtunkhwa MAP, in a case involving the death of a traffic sergeant.

A model court comprising Dost Muhammad Mandokhel has acquitted Majeed Khan Achakzai, a former member of the Balochistan Assembly and former chairman of the Provincial Public Accounts Committee, for lack of evidence.

It may be recalled that in 2017, Inspector Ataullah was controlling traffic at GPO Chowk on Zarghoon Road when a white Land Cruiser hit him while approaching.

Initially, the police had registered a case against the unidentified persons in connection with the death of the traffic police inspector. However, when CCTV footage of the incident was broadcast on the media, Majeed Khan Achakzai was arrested but was later released on bail. Were

Following the establishment of the Model Courts, the case was recently transferred to the Model Court in Quetta and Majeed Khan Achakzai was followed in the case by Senior Advocate Kamran Murtaza Advocate.

Lawyer Kamran Murtaza Advocate took the position that although the vehicle belonged to Majeed Khan Achakzai, he was not driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Kamran Murtaza told the BBC's Muhammad Kazim that the prosecution could not prove that Majeed Khan Achakzai was driving the car, as a result of which the court acquitted him.

Since the acquittal of former MPA Majeed Khan Achakzai yesterday, CCTC footage of the incident has once again gone viral on Shoal Media.

#MajeedAchakzai has been a top trend since the verdict in this case and consumers are demanding frustration and anger as well as notice from the Chief Justice.

Jameel Farooqi was seen asking, “Despite all the video evidence and CCTV footage, MPA Majeed Achakzai, who killed Quetta Traffic Sergeant Ataullah in a road accident in broad daylight, was acquitted. If not synonymous then what else.

Adeel Raza writes, "Despite the evidence against former MPA Majeed Achakzai, his release proves that it is neither difficult nor impossible for the poor to get justice in Pakistan."

A user named Afzal said, “Majid Achakzai's acquittal is a big question in the justice system. If even the video evidence is insufficient, then Allah is the only one who remembers Pakistan.

A Patriot user was seen addressing Prime Minister Imran Khan and asking, "You are the head of a state where the killer is released in broad daylight." The state of Madinah is not like that.

A user named Faisal writes, "The demand for justice would have been that the court would have raised its hand that I do not get justice against the powerful or the affected family would have been forced to pay the money but despite the evidence, Majeed Achakzai was acquitted." Doing so is another stigma on the forehead of the judiciary which will be written in ink.

Imran Lalika was seen asking, "In the murder case of Sergeant Majeed Achakzai, I will say the same thing about the acquittal. How can a state and government which cannot punish the killer of its employee protect the lives and property of its citizens."

Sharing a video of the children of the slain traffic sergeant, Faizan wrote, "This cry of Inspector Attaullah's children is screaming at this law, justice and system, asking why justice is impossible for the oppressed and the poor."

"This is the time if the Supreme Court is to save the dignity of the judiciary and restore the confidence of the people in the judiciary, then the Chief Justice has to take notice, otherwise this ugly stain will also destroy the dignity of the judiciary," he said.

"The law is blind, I am convinced today," writes Miskin Tanoli.
