Travelogue of Azerbaijan: Azeri Palau, Nagorno-Karabakh and Kashmir

Flying in the high winds of Baku, we had a lot to see that day.  Arriving at the hotel from the airport, handling the luggage and making the arrangements for which I had to come here, a few hours passed and I thought that there must be some miscarriage now.

In fact, we came to Azerbaijan with a delegation of the then President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain, with the aim of further strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries and promoting cultural, trade and military cooperation.

Come on, let's go down to Zafrano Restaurant. ' When Apa pronounced the verdict, Hassan also bowed down.

Nothing could have happened now but there was nothing wrong with trying my luck, so he asked me to ask something? "Yes, say yes, but don't let me die." Apa, despite giving freedom of expression, also kept an address in his hand.

Does it matter if you take a few bites at Serena in Islamabad or enjoy Zafrano here? "No, no, no, it doesn't matter at all."

Hassan, as usual, proved his presence with great simplicity, then smile, but in his smile, there was a small, unannounced warning for this naivety that you should not speak without thinking, smiling. She turned her face towards me and turned to me, then she approached me and asked, "Do you want to say?"

I want you to get out of here, to roam the streets of this city, to have the courage to answer while walking, to find Aunty Barkata of this city and enjoy the breads of her oven. He smiled openly, but at the same time warned that if you get up every morning and say the same thing, then you are not well.

The chairs of the buildings in this city are so high that when one goes down, one can have a good gossip with two or three people.

We were just on the steps when we met Jagnu Shah. Knowing our intention, they said, "Go, go, go, enjoy the love of this city, but with your mouth shut."

The implication of this statement was that Azerbaijanis, like Turks, do not speak English, so it becomes difficult to communicate with them. Saying 'will be seen', the passengers went down the stairs.

April evenings are not so pleasant for us, but the strong gusts of wind blowing from the Gilan Sea in Baku are so intense that even the teeth of the traveling locals gnash their teeth.

Probably a factor as to why they're doing so poorly.

Just like in our country, the names of the judges are inscribed on the indoor colored plaques visible on both sides of the corridor from the walls of the courts, just as 'Cafeteria' was written in black letters on the creamy ground in the English alphabet. ۔

Seeing the destination in front of us, we turned towards the stairs. The cafeteria wasn't underground, but it wasn't on the ground. It was like our semi-roofed semi-basement, which came down a few steps.

The counter was right in front, with a man with a mustache standing behind it. A phrase came out from under the thick mustache, 'xos gelmisiniz' I didn't understand anything, Hassan started saying that Jagnu didn't say wrong.

It seems that the man with the mustache understood that these people did not understand anything, perhaps that is why he did not feel any problem in saying 'well less' by forcing nature.

According to Jagnu Shah's report, it was difficult to communicate with the cafeteria owner, it was not easy to understand what he could offer us and it was not possible to tell us what we needed. To understand this, he first took us to the kitchen, and then to the cafeteria store.

Passengers accustomed to the news of the red bag crawling in the hotels and restaurants of their country were heartbroken to see the salt oil kept here in the Sughadape, whether such clean hotels and dhabas were ever seen in the streets of their country. Will be able to give?

We were probably the first guests at this restaurant that evening, and we were followed by a throng of people. He would come down the stairs, reach the counter, whisper something and then sit on the seats in front of us and behind us.

What could have been the reason for me to go out to eat? I looked up at the counter. At that moment, someone came in. The person at the counter was pointing at us and telling us something. Curious and eager to share a secret with a newcomer to a new baby.

I stared at her lips, the movement of her lips conveyed the words from her tongue to me and my heart filled with joy, she first placed her hand on the collar of her coat where our Pakistani flags were hoisted on the coats, then he pointed to us and said: 'Pakistan, Pakistan.'

Talks between Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain and President Ilham Aliyev expanded military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan under a 2014 Military Cooperation Working Group agreement.

Novard looked at us curiously and then quietly took his chair. As we were about to get up after dinner, a relatively old man approached us, dragged a chair from the back row of chairs, and gestured toward our table, as if to ask me to sit here.

What could travelers object to, that is why they preferred this poor stall to eating at an Italian restaurant in a luxurious hotel. Like the counter, Azari's mustache was thick and his head was covered with a hat. After sitting down, he said in a very sweet tone, "Pakistan, in his style there was longing, joy and warmth, 'Pakistan.'" He repeated his words again and pointed to his chest and said, "Ali." ... Ali Khan.

"Welcome, Ali Khan." Hassan and I reached out to shake his hand. During the handshake, a few more Azaris got up from their seats and stood to our right and left, as if they were all waiting for an opportunity to have a conversation with the passengers.

As the handshake stopped, a young man standing behind the old man's chair hooked the index fingers of both his hands together and said, "Azerbaijan, Pakistan, we smiled and got up with him again." Shake hands

As I sat, my eyes widened. He was composing a song at the time: 'Dil Dil Pakistan, Jan Jan Pakistan.' As soon as he raised his voice, we clapped, then Eikhan's Cafeteria resounded with hymns and applause.

The party was called off and when we reached the counter to pay before leaving, Ikhan was not in the mood to listen. He wanted the Pakistani guests to consider him as their host and brother, not to break his heart by insisting on payment. At this stage, Ali Khan's intervention worked and he persuaded him to take some money as a token by saying 'Nishan, Nishan'.

When we reached the top of the stairs, a young man with a heart of Pakistan and a few other people were also standing to his right and left. Raising their hands and saying goodbye, we went on our way. From behind, the words of this popular national anthem of Pakistan reached our ears dil dil pakistan

Was it just a happy coincidence or is this the love for Pakistan in this country? The passengers thought. The briefs that are prepared at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the official visits of the Heads of Government and the points made for the talks include the history, cultural commonalities of the two countries and mutual support on various bilateral and international occasions Mentions of support are mentioned which are also repeated as an unavoidable necessity but often the status of these words is formal.

The same thing was written in the documents of President Mamnoon Hussein's visit to Azerbaijan in 2014, but the meeting with this short group of Azerbaijanis changed the situation, it matured after meeting with Maya.

Maya was a master's student at Baku State University, whom we met at a restaurant. The excuse of Salam Dua was created by his cooperation in choosing the menu, after which friendship was formed. "Maya, tell me one thing, what do you guys know about Pakistan?"

I asked him while sipping thick and bitter coffee. He smiled at the question and said, "Shall I answer or would you like to know about it from another Azeri here?" "As you wish." I left the decision to him, so he got up and invited a man sitting next to him to come closer to him.

When he came to us hesitantly, Maya asked him to tell them something about Pakistan without giving him a chance to think. He listened to this question with surprise as if he was unable to understand the reason for this order. "Sir, they are foreigners. During the conversation, they asked me about Pakistan, so I thought it appropriate to tell them what is in our hearts, that is why I have bothered you."

He began to say that whether it is Pakistan or Azerbaijan, I do not see any difference between these two countries. Why have you ever been to Pakistan? I asked, "No, I have never been to Pakistan." He explained that every Azeri knew that Pakistan was the first country to recognize an independent Azerbaijan.

First or second? To my question, what is the difference between a few minutes and a minute? We think that whether it is Turkey or Pakistan, these two countries have recognized our independence at the same time and helped us to stand with dignity in the United Nations. Provided the opportunity.

He was a television and film actor, and Tadir chatted with him. He wanted to strengthen cultural ties between the two countries in a meaningful way.

He had a keen eye on the history of music and its various styles. He said that as you explore the music of the region and the Muslim subcontinent, its foundations will come together.

This impression was confirmed the night I arrived in the room at night and turned on the television. Even then, like our classical singers, an old man was singing some of the same melodies that, despite being Azeri in language and style, were strangers. Did not feel

The night was getting wet when we got up from here, leaving after a farewell handshake, he said, we were not only bound by faith, but also by linguistic, cultural and ethnic ties, but also in such a painful relationship between the two nations. Are attached which is not found anywhere else.

When I looked at him in amazement, he said with some sadness, "Nagorno-Karabakh's sadness is with our lives. Pakistan has always stood by us on this issue as if it is a matter of Kashmir. Never forget." Our souls are also tormented by the atrocities against Kashmiri Muslims.

He was right, this is a short time after independence, Armenia attacked a town in Khojle, Azerbaijan and massacred 161 unarmed civilians. Azerbaijan called this atrocity genocide and genocide and raised its voice against this oppression. At this critical juncture, Pakistan was one of the earliest countries to support its friend.

Similarly, in 1993, a Security Council meeting chaired by Pakistan passed a resolution recognizing Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan believes that it cannot achieve this success in the world's largest body without Pakistan's support.

Like Pakistan, Azerbaijan considers Kashmir a part of Pakistan and supports Pakistan's position in this regard at every forum in the world.

There is military co-operation between the two countries, while in 2014 the Working Group on Military Co-operation signed an agreement expanding military co-operation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

The Azeri army was once trained in Pakistan, and there is potential for cooperation between the two countries in defense production in some areas.

In 2016, the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Ilham Aliyev also held talks on holding joint military exercises and selling the JF Thunder. This series of mutual cooperation between the two countries is developing.

Special working groups of the two countries are working to promote trade, which have been meeting from time to time.

In 2018, bilateral trade between the two countries had increased to 7.3 million dollars compared to the previous year, which has the potential to increase.

Pakistan buys petroleum products from Azerbaijan, while Azerbaijan buys a lot of products from Pakistan, including sports goods, pharmaceuticals and leather products.

The actor we met through Maya took us by surprise. People in the showbiz industry don't usually get into such serious matters. Maya also confirmed our impression and said that you are right. But this general attitude does not apply to Pakistan.

The next day, during the talks at Zagbola, the presidential palace, President Ilham Aliyev's words and tone were no different from the feelings of the actor and student Maya. These talks were memorable in many ways.

Pakistan was interested in opening a branch of the National Bank for Pakistani nationals doing business with the country, but the bank could not keep the required amount of capital there under the laws of the country, on which the President of Azerbaijan Ilham removed all such conditions for Pakistan do.

Similarly, several other memorable decisions were made, including the restoration of air service between the two countries, which was later ensured with the cooperation of Turkish Airlines. The two countries were also in favor of further enhancing meaningful defense cooperation, while Azerbaijan offered Pakistan the benefit of its extraordinary experience in oil and gas exploration, which was gladly accepted.

This is an area of cooperation between the two countries that has the potential to change Pakistan's destiny.

There were detailed discussions between the then President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham on the subject. It is to be expected that some major progress will be made in this area in the coming years.

The dinner table was set up after talks between the two heads of state and their delegations. The banquet included innumerable colorful dishes as well as palao. There was something like a golden coin shining in the palao, the taste of which surpassed other blessings. These were nobles. The elders say that there was a time when nobles Our palao also flourished.
