Karachi: The second anti-government rally under Pakistan Democratic Movement PDM will be hosted by PPP today at Bagh-e-Jinnah for which preparations have been completed.
According to PPP leaders, the central leadership of Pakistan Democratic Movement PDM will address the meeting in which Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Maryam Nawaz, Aimal Wali Khan, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Ahsan Iqbal, Shah Owais Noorani, Allama Sajid Mir, Dr. Abdul Malik, Iftikhar Hussain, Amir Haider Khan Hoti, Dr Jahanzeb Jamaldini and others will address the function.

50,000 seats were installed in the venue
Preparations for the meeting have been completed, 50,000 seats have been set up in the venue, the meeting hall has five main doors with three for men, one for women and one for the central leaders. Flags and welcome banners of all parties have been hung in the hall.
Special sound and lighting arrangements have been made in the auditorium. The stage of the auditorium is made of container which is 20 feet high, 160 feet wide and 160 feet long. 1,500 PPP workers will be on duty in the hall. Various committees have been formed in this regard which include internal security besides traffic control, watering, implementation of Corona SOPs and other matters.
A separate place has been allotted for women in the assembly hall where the PPP will carry out the women's duty of the women's section. Special arrangements have been made for parking and security around the venue in collaboration with the administration and different routes have been fixed for the arrival of different caravans. Walk-through gates have been set up at all entrances before entering the venue. Masks will be provided to the participants by the organizers of the meeting and the hands of the participants will be sanitized before entering.
The Jalsa will begin at 4:30 pm on Sunday. An 80 feet long and 80 feet wide SMB screen has been installed along with the main screen on the stage of the meeting. A banner of the Pakistan Democratic Movement will be hung at the bottom of the screen with pictures of the central leaders.
Asif Zardari will not be able to participate
Sound systems have also been installed on the roads around the venue. Arrangements have also been made to provide water and other basic necessities in the venue. Sources said that a video link address of PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif is expected from the meeting while former president Asif Ali Zardari will also not attend the meeting due to illness and his video link address is also not possible.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Bilawal reached Karachi
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Senator Sajid Mir have reached Karachi on Saturday evening for the meeting while leaders of other parties including Maryam Nawaz and Aimal Wali will reach Karachi on Sunday.
Maryam Nawaz will arrive today, will visit Mazar-e-Quaid
According to PML-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb, Maryam Nawaz Sharif will leave Lahore for Karachi at 11 a.m. on Sunday. ۔
4800 police officers and personnel deployed for security
Meanwhile, Karachi police completed security arrangements for the rally. More than 4,800 police officers and personnel have been deployed in Bagh-e-Jinnah today. Apart from 30 senior police officers, security will include 65 DSPs, 870 sub-inspectors and ASIs while 3,740 police personnel.
