 Pakistani girl selected for Marvel's 'Muslim Superhero Girl' TV series


Los Angeles: Marvel Studios has selected a Pakistani girl for its first Muslim superhero TV series.

Marvel Studios is making a TV series on its first Muslim superhero, Miss Marvel. Marvel Studios has long been looking for a girl who is Pakistani but grew up in the US for the main character of this TV series "Kamala Khan" and now the search for Marvel Studios is over.


 Actress Iman Walani will play the lead role of "Kamala Khan" in Marvel Studios' first Muslim superhero Girl TV series. Iman Walani, 18, is a Pakistani-Canadian actress who also attended the Toronto Film Festival last year. She plans to become a cinematographer in the future.

The Marvel Studios TV series will be directed by renowned Pakistani director Sharmeen Obaid Chanay, along with three other well-known directors, Adeel Al-Arabi, Bilal Falah and Indian-American Meira Menon. The TV series will be aired on Darney Plus and will air in 2022.

The role of Miss Marvel was created by Marvel editor and director Sana Amanat as a co-creator in 2014. Miss Marvel is a 16-year-old Pakistani-American Muslim girl named Kamala Khan who lives in New Jersey, USA. This character has the ability to change his appearance. This is the first Muslim character on which a comic book series has been made.

 Pakistani-born Hollywood actor Kamil Nanjiani has congratulated Iman Walani on his role as the first Muslim female superhero of Marvel Studios.
